HOW TO ENTER: Films should be submitted in cross-platform CD-ROM and in ‘QuickTime or iMovie format. One movie per CD. Semi-finalist and finalist films will be screened at CEEF’s ePIC premiere on Friday, April 4, 2008.
ENTRY DEADLINE: Intention to participate forms are due November 1, 2007. ePIC entries must be received by CEEF no later than 5 p.m., February 27, 2008. The CEEF office is located at 10301 Vista Drive, Cupertino.
FESTIVAL PREMIERE: Friday, April 4, 2008 6:00 p.m. - 7:10 p.m. Lawson Middle School, 10401 Vista Drive, Cupertino
CEEF INNOVATOR AWARDS CEREMONY Friday, April 4, 2008 7:30 p.m. Lawson Middle School RULES: - Movies must be created by currently enrolled students in the Cupertino Union School District. Films commissioned for commercial purposes or for profit may not be entered.
- Movies must be submitted on cross-platform CD-ROM and in QuickTime or iMovie format. One movie per CD.
- You may enter as many movies as you like; however, movies may be submitted only once.
- Instructional and Original Literary Movies must be no longer than two minutes in length with a file size no larger than 30 MB; Documentaries must be no longer than four minutes in length.
- CEEF may disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate within their sole discretion.
- Digital movies must be received in the CEEF office, 10301 Vista Drive, Cupertino, no later than 5 p.m., February 27, 2008.
- Release forms for everyone in your movie must be submitted with the movie entry.
- Any copyrighted work – music, logos, or clips - must have the appropriate written permission attached.
- By submitting a movie, the contestant(s) grants CEEF the right to publish the movie in part or in whole in any medium
- Copyright of the movie will remain with the contestant.
JUDGING CRITERIA POSSIBLE POINTS Instructional Merit 20 Creativity 20 Cinematography 20 Screenplay 20 Soundtrack 20 Total Possible Score 100.
Instructional Merit: Movie demonstrates depth of knowledge, insight, and adherence to rules of language.
Creativity: Movie is well developed, aesthetically pleasing, and adds a different angle to its content.
Cinematography: Movie presents high quality images, sound, lighting, editing, etc.
Screenplay: Script shapes information or ideas in a manner that speaks to a universal audience.
Soundtrack: Recorded music, dialogue, and sound effects add to the impact of the movie’s impact.
