CEEF Technology Innovation Awards
Applications will be accepted between September 1, 2009 - March 25, 2010, or until a maximum of twelve $1,000 grants have been awarded.  Application forms with DVD project videos should be delivered to CEEF at 10301 Vista Drive, Cupertino, CA  95014.

Objective: 

To recognize and encourage innovative and creative uses of technology in classroom projects that enhance teaching and learning.  

Guidelines:

CEEF will award a maximum of twelve $1,000 cash awards toward the purchase of classroom technology resources in recognition of exceptional K-8 classroom projects that enhance language arts, math, science, social studies, or visual and performing arts curriculum. 

Awards may also be presented in recognition of exceptional projects that inspire collaboration/communication, intellectual curiosity, or creativity. Selection criteria will include creativity; ease with which the project can be viewed, implemented, shared, and replicated; and quality of the project sample.

The cash awards are to be used to purchase technology resources (software; devices such as printers, projectors, and digital cameras; and professional development) that will enhance classroom instructional programs

 Nomination
Process:

Submittal of a representative student-produced iMovie/Quicktime project (2 minutes maximum length) will be required as part of the application packet. Application forms will be accepted on a rolling basis by CEEF between September 1, 2009 - March 25, 2010, or until twelve $1,000 grants have been awarded.  Award winners will be recognized at CEEF's Innovator Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Lawson Middle School.

 Conditions
      of the
Award:

Teachers who receive a CEEF Technology Innovation Award will be expected to submit a representative student-produced classroom iMovie/Quicktime project suitable for posting on the CEEF website.  The award winning project description and methodology also will be posted.

Teachers who receive a CEEF Technology Innovation Award must submit a brief written report to CEEF by June 1, 2010 that notes how the cash award was spent and reflects on how the training or technology resource has changed his/her instructional program.


Teachers who receive the award will be expected to share their knowledge with fellow district teachers.
